The dress code is casual, the bars are loaded. Rockstar describes life in the Keys as not flashy but easy - get your buzz on and pull up a deck chair - with one warning: you are on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America.
This is where the story finds Jason. He works for local drug runners and lives rent-free at one of Brian Heder's properties. Brian still moves product through his boat yard. Cal Hampton, Jason's friend and another of Brian's associates, listens to the Coast Guard from his couch; Rockstar does not say where that couch is.
The Leonida Keys are a tropical island chain. Rockstar's strapline is that the dress code is casual and the bars are loaded, and it describes life there as easy rather than flashy, beside some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in America. Jason and Brian Heder both start the story there.
