10 GTA 6 Trailer Clips the Internet Is Obsessed With
The ten GTA 6 trailer moments that keep getting clipped and reshared - what's on screen, why each one travels, and the real numbers behind both launches.

Both GTA 6 trailers set records, but certain moments from each keep travelling long after the launch-day numbers - clipped for Shorts, looped on TikTok, cut into edits, argued over on Reddit. These are the ten I still see every week, what’s actually on screen in each, and why I think they stick.
1. Lucia’s “Bad Luck, I Guess”
Why It’s Viral
The first trailer opens on Lucia in prison, shot through chain-link, sitting across from a staffer who asks how she ended up there. Her answer: “Bad luck, I guess.” Screen Rant flagged it inside two days as the character in a sentence, and that’s exactly how it’s been used since.

Why it blew up:
- First proper character imprint of Lucia
- The deadpan delivery is instantly quotable
- It’s the first thing anyone saw of GTA 6, so it became the intro clip by default
- Rockstar’s bio later confirmed the backstory it hints at - fighting for her family put her in the Leonida Penitentiary, and “sheer luck got her out”
This is my favourite kind of Rockstar writing. Three words, no exposition, and you know who she is.
2. Vice City Nightclub Chaos
Why It’s Viral
A packed club, neon in the haze, bodies everywhere - two seconds of a night out that looks like a night out. Miami New Times matched the DJ booth and hanging planters to Club Space downtown, which is the kind of specificity that makes locals lose it.

Why it blew up:
- Perfect loop for Reels and Shorts
- Screams “next-gen nightlife” without a word of dialogue
- The kind of ray-traced lighting Digital Foundry singled out as the trailer’s real leap
- It’s the Vice City everyone wanted - a party, not a period piece
3. Twerking on the Car Roof
Why It’s Viral
A woman twerking on the roof of a moving car while the passengers cheer, framed as a social clip. Peak Florida. And it’s real - Miami New Times pointed out it reported the actual incident in 2017, a woman twerking on a car heading eastbound along the MacArthur Causeway.

- Rockstar doing social-media satire the way it used to do radio
- The moment people realised the trailer was quoting real news
- Endlessly reposted as “GTA didn’t make this up”
4. Alligator Walks Into a Store
Why It’s Viral
CCTV-style footage of a gator strolling into a convenience store. No context, no explanation - Leonida being Leonida. Rockstar’s own Grassrivers blurb warns that “the gators may be the most famous attraction, but there are far deadlier predators” out there, which is a promise I intend to hold it to.

- So stupidly on-brand for Florida
- Shared by people who’ve never played a GTA
- One-second absurdity that loops perfectly
- Reaction-GIF material from the day it dropped
5. Liquor Store Heist & Getaway
Why It’s Viral
Lucia and Jason storm Uncle Jack’s Liquor in bandanas and tear out of the car park. It’s the trailer’s closing beat and the first “crime couple” gameplay fantasy anyone saw. GTA6Intel logs the store at 1:09 and 1:16 of Trailer 1, and Screen Rant matched it to a real Miami liquor store.

- Jason and Lucia working as equals

- Became the shorthand clip for “this is what GTA 6 is” in every argument since
6. “Hi Jason!” - Neighbourhood Thirst Moment
Why It’s Viral
Jason cruising a residential street when a neighbour in a passing car calls out to him, and he laughs. Five seconds, no plot, instant meme.

Why it blew up:
- Turned into the “thirsty neighbour” meme immediately
- Shows Jason’s easy charm without a line of his own
- Slice-of-life in a trailer full of crime
- The most remixed five seconds of Trailer 2, in my experience of scrolling
It fits the bio Rockstar published the same day - a guy who wants “an easy life” and has clearly made friends on the street. Rockstar has not said where this street is, so ignore anyone naming it.
7. Smoke Shop Robbery
Why It’s Viral
Jason punches out a clerk and rips open the till as the music switches up. A readable mini-heist that looks like the game, not a cutscene - and Rockstar said as much, confirming on social that Trailer 2 was captured in-game on a base PS5, equal parts gameplay and cutscenes.

Why it blew up:
- Perfect short-form loop
- Looks exactly like the gameplay everyone wants
- The punch and the till-rip are satisfying AF
- Music timing makes it fu@king perfect
8. Lucia’s Prison Release & Reunion
Why It’s Viral
The gate slides open, Lucia walks out of the Leonida Penitentiary, and she and Jason greet each other like people who’ve been waiting. This is the emotional anchor of Trailer 2, and the Pointer Sisters do the rest.

Why it blew up:
- The emotional core everyone was waiting for after Trailer 1
- The “love story” edit clip - set to every song imaginable
- Rockstar’s synopsis says they’re “forced to rely on each other more than ever”, and this is that in one shot
- Lucia’s bio ends “A life with Jason could be her way out.” Here’s the door opening
9. Sinfrontera National Bank Holdup
Why It’s Viral
Lucia and Jason, masked and armed, inside Sinfrontera National Bank. GTA6Intel puts it at 1:16 of Trailer 2, and with the vault-dragging shots it’s the big heist tease of the whole campaign so far.

Why it blew up:
- The heist fantasy everyone wants
- Both leads working one big job
- Clean, readable, obviously playable
- Gets clipped into every “GTA 6 missions” discussion - and Raul Bautista, the “seasoned bank robber” in Rockstar’s cast, is the obvious link
10. Lucia on the Bus with a Grenade Launcher
Why It’s Viral
Lucia on the back of a moving bus, firing a grenade launcher at pursuing police as a vehicle flips in a fireball. Pure GTA chaos, and the shot that answers “why are people hyped?” without a word.

Why it blew up:
- Police chase, explosions, absolute chaos
- Lucia as the menace
- This IS what GTA is about
- The closing-shot energy of an action movie, three seconds long
Why These Moments Stand Out
Both trailers are packed, but these ten clips travel further than the rest because each one does a single job in under eight seconds. That’s the whole trick.
What makes a trailer moment go viral:
- Meme potential - “Hi Jason!” and the gator
- Emotional resonance - the prison gate
- Action showcase - the bank and the bus
- Cultural commentary - the twerking clip and the social montage
- Shareability - loops of two to eight seconds that need no setup
From Trailer 1’s character introduction to Trailer 2’s action, these ten define how people remember and talk about GTA 6. They’ve stopped being trailer moments and become the shared vocabulary of waiting for the game.
Record-Breaking Performance
The clips travel because the launch audiences were enormous, and those numbers are on the record.
Trailer 1 (December 4, 2023):
- Over 93 million views in 24 hours, which YouTube’s own blog called the record for a non-music video’s first day
- Over 250 million views of GTA 6-related videos across YouTube by the next day, again per YouTube
- Released roughly fifteen hours early after a leak, with Rockstar’s post - “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube” - going up about half an hour after the leaked copy, per GamesRadar+
Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025):
- 475 million views in 24 hours across all platforms, a figure Rockstar gave The Hollywood Reporter
- 83.6 million of those on YouTube and 106 million on X, per TheGamer’s breakdown of the same report
- Rockstar called it the biggest video launch of all time - and the comparison isn’t like for like, because Trailer 1’s 93 million was YouTube only
Those two launches are why individual seconds from each trailer are still circulating months later. The initial audience was half a billion, and the clips are good enough that people keep going back for the piece they want to share.
The community’s obsession with these specific moments shows what we’re excited about: a game that gets modern Florida, embraces chaos, has an actual relationship at the centre, and isn’t afraid to be ridiculous while telling a serious two-lead crime story.
Months later, those ten clips are still doing the rounds. The trailers were built to travel.
